Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses
with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small
business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance
and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management
partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and
remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud,
reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others

Risk is the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed processes or
systems, human factors, or external events. Operational Risk Oversight is an
independent “second line of defense” that proactively identifies potential
Operational Risks and ensures adequate controls are in place to guard against
financial loss. Operational Risk Oversight is responsible for maintaining,
monitoring, updating, and executing the Operational Risk management framework.

Within the CCB
ORO team the role is to provide strong and sustainable Operational Risk
Oversight for CCB Fraud Operation function through independent and continuous
oversight aligned with the CCB and firm-wide Operational Risk management
framework. Our coverage model includes coordinating with business stakeholders
in risk identification, mitigation per appetite, analysis and reporting, performed
targeted deep dive to identify unmitigated or under mitigated risk and
appropriate engagement in any additional directives from senior

ResponsibilitiesInclude (but not limited to)

+ Maintainawareness of risk and control issues within the business whetherself-identified or from internal /external audit

+ Reviewinternal and external Operational Risk errors for opportunities toimplement new preventive and detective controls

+ Evaluatethe strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provide businessdirection on opportunities for improvement

+ Providean independent, objective view of operational risk assessments, mitigationstrategies and emerging risks

+ Understandthe area’s Risk Control Self Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk & PerformanceIndicators, and other controls to identify negative trends and potentialcontrol gaps

+ Maintainstrong business relationships with internal clients and deliverpresentations to senior audiences

+ Participatein various Operational Risk and LOB meetings related to operational riskand control matters

+ PerformRisk Assessments by utilizing the Operational Risk management framework

+ Performindependent challenge assessment of adherence to RCSA standards andadequacy of the RCSA program

+ Developpositive working relationships and act as liaison with CorporateOperational Risk (COR) and peers across CCB Operational Risk Oversight inorder to understand requirements and ensure an appropriate/consistentapproach is adopted, and assure an open environment for collaboration,risk identification and remediation

+ Workwith Operational and Control Officer personnel to obtain and review datanecessary to evaluate control effectiveness

+ ProvideRisk oversight and guidance as needed during operational process design toensure compliance with Risk, Compliance and Legal policies anddepartmental procedures

+ Create,maintain and administer a sustainable framework for efficient andeffective Operational Risk reporting across relevant Executives andCommittees

+ Identifyand assess severity and likelihood of issues for potential escalation andcommunication to Business Executives and Senior Risk Managers

+ Participateas necessary in CCB Operational Risk Working Groups that continue torefine requirements within framework components as necessary

+ Bachelor’sDegree; experience in risk, controls, finance and regulatory aplus

+ Minimum7 years’ experience in the Financial Industry

+ RiskControl Self-Assessment experience

+ Stronganalytical skills and proven ability to develop solutions to complexproblems, including those that are analytical, process, and/or dataoriented in nature

+ Abilityto understand complex business functions quickly and to assess the impactand severity of findings and control issues

+ Strongknowledge of regulatory compliance, and internal control principles

+ Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills, including ability to negotiate,compromise and demonstrate diplomacy in sensitive situations and tointeract effectively with senior management

+ Demonstratedrisk assessment skills, including risk identification, measurement, andmitigation

+ StrongPC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to quickly learn newapplications

+ Abilityto work independently and in cross functional team environments
