The Finance Manager, Procurement/Indirect will be responsible for acting as the primary liaison to the procurement/sourcing teams.
This role will be aligned to the function primarily to help measure and support spend objectives or cost savings initiatives and provide realistic forecasts so that pricing/staff strategies are appropriately aligned. This role will develop and implement processes and system improvements which increase the efficiency of the department while maintaining an effective internal control structure. This person will also be responsible for helping to manage the departmental staff budget for procurement and Supply Chain. The lead position also requires the need to think forward and view how we better automate or calculate certain measures into the future.
While the position involves no transactional postings, it is expected that this role will work closely with plant controllers and other finance staff to understand cost movements and to ensure cost saving plans are being executed and realized.
The position will have 1 direct report with indirect support in Hyderabad.
Key Role Responsibilities:
+ Act as the go to person for tactical day to day operations at a finance level to support sourcing organization.
+ Interpret and explain the purchase price variance report to the sourcing team along with drivers and highlighting risk/opportunities
+ Work with the team to provide a accountable forecast rhythm and process taking into account changes in currency and macro-economic indicators along with internal input
+ Help drive areas for cost out opportunities by analyzing vendor spend
+ Work directly with back office VP’s to explain spending trends, variances to plan or forecast. This will involve coordination with Hyderabad/regional controllers to explain financial postings to non-finance leaders.
+ Understand and align with sourcing on indirect procurement activities (travel, fleet, energy) and making sure the other Solenis functions are seeing the realized benefits. Separate cost avoidance from cost savings realized.
+ Oversee junior analyst and provide oversight to their day to day activities and direction. Provide coaching and development opportunities to further develop internal employees for succession plans.
+ Coach and train SSC staff where applicable, hold regular meetings and training sessions to ensure adequate knowledge transfer and understanding;
+ Provide SSC with directions/oversight to get first level analytics or reporting completed timely
+ Responsible for working with cross-functional teams like pricing to deliver data timely so consolidated Solenis forecasts can be updated on time and with the appropriate level of detail.
+ Assist manager with strategic requests and coordinate corporate internal slides/requests
+ BS Degree in Accounting or Equivalent
+ Ability to motivate and influence team members who are not in same physical location
+ At least 3-5 years of financial experience in an analytical or budgeting environment
+ Managed an end to end budgeting cycle
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills
+ Experience in transition projects to SSC/BPO structures
+ Knowledge of and experience in Budgeting/Forecasting processes
+ SAP FI/CO module knowledge is required, understanding of SD and MM modules is an advantage;
+ Professional level of knowledge of modern accounting practices;
+ Comfortable working with large data sets in excel
+ Experience in SAP or ERP desired
