Solenis has recently completed a merger with BASF’s wet-end paper and water chemical business, which substantially increases Solenis’ global presence in the water treatment and process chemicals business. Additionally, the Tax Department’s leadership has been restructured to transform the Department into a highly visible and collaborative player within Solenis’ Finance Group. The Tax Department is a fast-paced, dynamic group whose goal is to provide timely and accurate information to internal- and external-stakeholders while providing an inclusive and growth-oriented environment. Solenis is currently located north of Wilmington (within a mile of the Pennsylvania-state border) but will be moving to a larger, custom-designed, state-of-the art building within close proximity to our existing location by January, 2020. Given these exciting developments, we have added a Senior Income Tax Analyst role that will assist in all areas of domestic and international taxation, including income, sales & use, quarterly and year-end tax provisions, and tax planning projects.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Tax Provision (ASC 740/FAS 109):
+ Lead the preparation of annual domestic tax provision
+ Preparation of complex quarterly/annual FIN48 and APB23 calculations
+ Assist with the development and review of annual separate-company foreign entity tax provision reporting packages
+ Assist with the preparation of tax footnote disclosures
+ Preparation of quarterly worldwide tax provision
+ Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation of global legal entity income tax accounts
+ Analyzes global tax attributes, including recommendations and supporting documentation for valuation allowances on deferred tax assets in a tax jurisdiction
+ Assist with ensuring implementation and execution of Sarbanes Oxley compliance
+ Support management in coordinating external financial statement audits related to income tax
+ Support Sr. Manager, Tax Provision and Compliance in OTP administration and continuance of global training and maintenance
+ Liaise with external service provider for the preparation of domestic federal, state, and local annual income/franchise returns including:
+ Preparation of federal and state tax return detailed supporting work-papers
+ Preparation state and local income/franchise tax calculations
+ Calculation of apportionment factors for multiple states and entities
+ Assist with calculation of the R&D credit and Sec. 199A domestic manufacturing deduction
+ Calculation of federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions
+ Assist with quarterly federal and state tax forecasts and cash flow analyses
+ Review and reconciliation of various tax depreciation books to financial books
+ Coordinate with outside service provider on various indirect tax returns and issues (e.g., sales, and property tax)
+ Research and document tax return-related issues as necessary
+ Reconciliation of various general ledger tax accounts
+ Completion of special tax projects as assigned
+ Perform tax research when necessary
+ Assist with the development and mentoring of junior staff
+ Other duties as assigned
+ Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
+ 4-8 years of similar tax experience in a Big 4 and/or large multi-national corporate tax department
+ Working knowledge and hands-on user of OneSource Tax Provision (mandatory) with superior Excel skills
+ CPA license (preferred)
