Job Description

As
an experienced member of our Software Engineering Group we look first and

The
senior software engineer will act as a high-level individual contributor and
team lead supporting the migration of the legacy stack (COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and MQ) to the target stack (Java, Linux, spring
boot, internal/external cloud, open source technologies such as Cassandra,
Kafka, Hadoop and Storm). This position reports to an executive director of IT
organizational management and supports the Consumer & Community Banking
group. This senior software engineer will work on-site in Wilmington, Delaware.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

+ BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

+ Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

+ Advanced knowledge of architecture, design across all systems

+ Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages or technologies such as Java, Spring, and Microservices

+ Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices

+ Keen understanding of financial control and budget management

+ Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture

+ Should have 10+ years of Java or related experience. Expert skills with best of breed design patterns using distributed computing techniques geared towards high performance, multi-threading, and Micro-Services

+ Possess experience with the target state technical stack (java, Linux, spring boot, internal/external cloud, open source technologies such as Cassandra, Kafka, Hadoop and Storm)

+ Able to collaborate with agile/feature teams and project teams by providing governance guidelines and architecture principles. Hands-On participant in architecture Proof of Concept activities and performance tuning framework software.

+ Preferred qualifications include technical skills for the legacy technical stack (COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and MQ), experience leading teams through large scale transformation projects, and experience working with vendors on integration.
