8 temporary Farmworker, Crop openings. Harrington, DE., 4/6/2019 – 12/31/2019. Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Perform a variety of duties such as lubricating and repairing farm machinery and driving grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of 3 months experience required. No minimum education required. Must be able to obtain a driver’s license within 30-90 days of hire. Random drug testing after hire. Must be able to speak English.
Housing and utilities are provided at no cost to workers who are unable to return to their place of residence the same day. If both male and female workers are hired, separate toilets, shower facilities and sleeping rooms will be provided by the employer. 48 hours/wk. 8 hours per day, 6 days per week, is normal. The worker may be requested but not required to work additional hours and/or on the Sabbath or federal holidays, depending upon the conditions in the fields or orchards, weather and maturity of the crop. $12.26/hr. no bonuses.Workers will be paid every 2 weeks. Employer will make all deductions from worker’s paycheck required by law. The employer guarantees to offer employment for minimum of 3/4 of the workdays of the total specified period during which the work contract and all extensions thereof are in effect, beginning with the first day after worker arrives at the place of employment and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or extensions thereof. In Act of God termination, the 3/4 guarantee period ends on the date of termination. Free transportation will be provided from the housing location to the work site and return each day. The employer will provide advance transportation for reasonable common carrier or other transportation which conforms to the Interstate Commerce Commission inbound transportation if it is the prevailing practice. If not the prevailing practice, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation costs and subsistence to the employer’s work site when the work completes 50% of the work period. Transportation & subsistence expenses ($12.26 daily w/o receipts, and $51.00 daily with receipts) to the worksites will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract, or earlier; to a maximum of $51.00 per day or the current maximum amount published in the Federal Register to workers with acceptable receipts. Employer will comply with first week wage guarantee; Payroll periods will be twice monthly. Workers will be paid on Friday each payroll period. Workers will purchase food and prepare meals in employer provided fully equipped kitchen. Employers will make sure workers have access to a grocery store at least once per week.
