Overview of Treasury and CIO
Treasury and the Chief Investment Office (CIO) manage the balance sheet of one
of the world’s largest global financial institutions with more than $2.5
trillion in assets. Primary responsibilities include:
+ Deploying the firm’s excessliquidity
+ Managingthe firm’s funding and liabilities
+ Aggregatingand managing the structural interest rate and foreign exchange risk ofJPMC’s four main businesses
+ Managingthe firm’s liquidity risk and its regulatory compliance
Treasury Middle Office team (CTMO) sits within CIO and facilitates the
production of both liquidity risk and structured interest rate risk (SIRR)
reporting. Key responsibilities include:
+ Partnering with CorporateTreasury, JPMC core lines of business (LOBs) and other internal riskstripes to produce key reports and metrics for regulators and seniorleadership on JPMC’s liquidity and structural interest rate risk.
+ Overseeing the operating modelsupporting the sourcing and flow of data from LOB systems of record toensure data integrity through variance analysis and reconciliations to theFirm’s general ledger.
+ Management of change to theoperating model, system architecture, and risk models where the team’s functionsare dependent.
The team has
locations in North America (Delaware and NYC), Europe (London) and Asia (Hong
CTMO is hiring an entry level analyst for its middle office team located in
Newark, Delaware. The analyst will be individually and jointly responsible for
the following functions:
Producing key firm wide and LOB liquidity and interest rate risk
reports including Federal Reserve 5G, Daily Available Collateral, Basis
Point Value (BPV), Economic Value of Equity (EVE), and Earnings at Risk (EaR). This includes responsibility for the execution
of more than a hundred predefined and ad hoc scenarios on a weekly basis.

candidate will have an opportunity to:
+ Improve their understanding ofasset and liability management principles for a large financialinstitution with a balance sheet in excess of 2.5 trillion.
+ Develop agood understanding of the key risk and liquidity metrics and model scenariosused by a financial institution to manage its interest rate risk andliquidity exposure.
+ Stayconnected to changes in the industry and the regulatory landscape as they applyto liquidity and interest rate risk.
+ Interact withsenior executives and external regulators on a frequent basis.Theteam’s analysis and reports are regularly presented to both on a periodicbasis.
+ Learn howCTMO sources, transforms and reconciles data using in the end to endreporting process and how data is loaded and modeled in JPM’s riskmanagement systems.
+ Improvetheir technical skills specifically around data management and ad hoc dataanalysis using Tableau, Excel, Access, and VBA.Theteam frequently completes ad-hoc analyses for specific regulatoryinitiatives and senior management requests for data and analytics.
+ Developrelationships with contacts in each of the Firm’s main lines of businessand a high level understanding of each of their balance sheets.
+ 1-3 years experience in financialoperations. An understanding of asset and liability management principalsis a plus.
+ Bachelor’sdegree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other quantitative field.
+ Strongtechnical skills (particularly in MS Excel). Knowledge of VBA, SQL is aplus.
+ Stronganalytical and quantitative skills, critical thinking, investigativeproblem-solving and decision making talents.
+ Ability towork under pressure, prioritize, multitask, and bring tasks to completeclosure.
+ Organizedand able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision.
+ Strongwritten and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare executivelevel presentations.
