Master Degree

The Site Director of Facilities Services is responsible for the coordination and day to day operations of assigned departments. The Director will also work with the Senior Director of Facilities Management to help plan, coordinate and execute maintenance and capital projects for assigned sites and facilities. This is a matrixed management position. As such, to be successful, the Director will need to coordinate with directors from other sites to ensure that assigned departments carryout activities consistent with Bayhealth-wide policies, practices and procedures established for each assigned department. The Director will also oversee emergency management training and practices for assigned site(s) in conformance with the established system-wide Emergency Management Program. Serves as Incident Commander as required during times of internal and/or external emergency.

Minimum Education and Experience:




Master’s degree in facilities management, engineering, architecture, or related field from an accredited institution.

Advanced degree in engineering or MBA, preferred


Ten years of progressively responsible facilities management experience; the five most recent years shall have been in a senior management level role for a campus or multi-campus institution.

Ten years of facilities management experience in a senior management role in a healthcare system.

Computer/Software Knowledge:

Demonstrated proficiency using standard office and project management software applications


Licensed as an Architect or Professional Engineer, preferred

Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

·Fluently speaks, reads and writes in the English language

·Knowledge of principles of environmental stewardship, including energy use, water use, transportation, recycling, air quality, etc.

·Experience with real estate leasing, acquisition, management and disposition.

·Handling the demands and requirements of senior-level administration.

·Technical aspects of facilities planning and construction.

·Planning and project management practices and techniques to include budget preparation, bid and purchasing procedures, and expense control.

·Laws and ordinances regulating building construction and operation.

·Regulations and codes governing healthcare facilities operation and maintenance

·Preparing budgets and monitoring the disbursement of funds.

·Effectively managing, leading, and delegating tasks and authority.

·Analyzing highly conceptual issues and problems and providing creative solutions.

·Collaborating effectively with diverse constituencies.

·Meeting deadlines and handling multiple projects.

·Providing leadership to all levels of Bayhealth and our community.
