Position Summary:

The Director of Marketing Analytics will work collaboratively with the Marketing Channel Team and the SLM Lead Generation team to ensure accuracy and maximization of all marketing activities\. The individual represents the Analytics team, owning the relationships with both of the aforementioned groups\.

The Director will lead or assist in all marketing tactics, most specifically in the overall understanding of Direct Marketing targeting and strategy, providing recommendations for budget decisions and process improvements\. The incumbent will be expected to proactively identify new opportunities, tactics, and/or modifications to improve the current suite of activities\.

The individual will create the strategy and read for the Prospect Direct Mail campaign, which accounts for millions of dollars in marketing spend\. He/she will be responsible for digital analytics, specifically as it relates to Paid Search, which is the largest marketing channel within the organization\. The Director will also be a subject matter expert and lead for display analytics, which is currently the fastest growing channel\. This person will be responsible for working with outside agencies to align on analytics for these tactics\.

The Director is responsible for the forecast of the Direct to Consumer portion of the business, which drives a significant amount of the overall $4\.9B in student loan originations projected for the calendar year 2018\.

The incumbent will maximize SLM marketing lead potential and efficiency, by partnering with the Lead Generation team to drive process changes and improvements\. They are expected to oversee the research and analysis of all issues related to lead generation and marketing campaigns\. They are expected to be an expert in both the business side of marketing, and the analytic and data side of IT\.

The individual must possess strong leadership skills and be able to work autonomously and effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment\. Communication and prioritization skills are a must, as is the ability to present information, strategy, and recommendations clearly and succinctly to senior management\. He/she will need to have management experience, as they will be responsible for a team of business analysts\.

+ Research optimal methods to identify marketing populations most accurately
+ Act as liaison between business and IT to ensure clear and accurate communication
+ Identify opportunities in segmentation and strategy behind targeting

Ad\-hoc Requests \-\- 20%

+ Serve as subject matter expert in all marketing targeting rules, campaigns, and definitions
+ Apply creativity in problem\-solving
+ Help respond to inquiries about specific targeted populations or opportunities

Self\-Development \-\- 10%

+ Take an active role in identifying potential new data sources and ways to analyze
+ Develop expert level knowledge of all data sources and business tactics
+ Present information in a manner that is clear to the target audience

Requirements

Education:

+ BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective business area partnerships
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex analytics
+ Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a time\-sensitive environment
+ Excellent project management skills
+ Highly motivated, proactive, resourceful, with ability to work cross\-functionally
+ Ability to accurately identify issues, implement resolutions, and escalate to management

Experience:

+ 3\-5 years experience managing a team of analysts
+ 7\-10 years quantitative experience with minimum 5 years experience on marketing analytics
+ 7\-10 years experience utilizing SAS/SQL to produce strategy models and performance reports
+ Proficient in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint
