POSITION PURPOSE

The Desktop/Network Support Administrator is a customer-facing role where customer service and orientation is critical to the success of the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining the stable operation of BAC information technology infrastructure including data, voice and video. The Desktop/Network Support Administrator will work with the global IT infrastructure team in the team support of current systems and the implementation of all improvements and expansions. This role will have mastery of desktop support and additionally focus 20% effort on network systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

+ Provide Tier I and Tier II desktop support for the business operation accomplished by providing subject matter expertise in resolving incidents and problems

+ Mobile device security and administration

+ Ensure that incidents/requests are handled according to agreed procedures, ensuring that documentation of the supported components is available and in an appropriate form for those providing support.

+ Install, configure and troubleshoot and repair hardware such as laptops, workstations, printers, phones, video conference equipment and mobile devices working with third-party vendors as applicable.

+ Deploy hardware/software to remote office locations leveraging automated processes and third-party vendors and tools where applicable

+ Perform active directory functions such as group policy creation, account creation, group modifications and password resets.

+ Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.

+ Lifecycle management of hardware and software (asset tagging, asset inventory management, upgrades, security updates, patches, prepare and maintain documentation of PC, servers, printers and other peripherals)

+ Maintain strong relationships with service providers.

+ Performs IT purchasing, manages inventory and software licensing compliance.

+ Responds to user support requests and working with the Global Business Systems team as needed to adequately satisfy support requests in a timely manner

+ Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the business operation

+ Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential

+ Responsible for evaluation, design and deployment of the desktop and network operating environment. Accountable for creating and maintaining BAC’s global IT infrastructure that combines technology with business processes to help transform BAC business to the highest levels of performance. The ideal candidate must be able to must be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels within the organization as well as external consultants.

TheDesktop/Network Support Administratorworks together with the IT Infrastructure team located in Jessup, MD. Successful interaction with people at all levels, functions and regions are within this role.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

+ 4 Year Degree in IT or related field

+ 3+ years of experience in systems/desktop administration

+ MS Certification

+ Strong record of PC configuration, troubleshooting, patch practices and imaging

+ Understanding of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, firewalls, network switches and routers

+ Understanding of Active Directory of SAMBA, email, VPN, Proxies, DNS, DHCP, terminal server, and Microsoft software products.

+ Knowledge in Server and PC hardware/software including automated deployment technologies

+ Understanding of backup and restrore technologies

+ Advanced analytical skill and problem solving techniques

+ Advanced written and verbal communication skills

+ Works to build/maintain constructive, effective relationships to achieve objectives effectively as part of team projects

+ High level of customer focus with ability to identify and prioritize urgent requirements and provide a high level of customer service

+ Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple requests with competing timelines.
